These lethal predators attack their prey not with one but two sets of jaws.
The Giant Moray Eel (Gymnothorax javanicus) have hooked teeth down in their throats called Pharyngeal Jaws. After the eel bites down on prey, these terrifying chompers extend and pull it down through the entire throat helping the eel swallow the prey whole. The entire process just takes fractions of a second. Even though there are many fishes have a second set of jaws to help them chew their food but only Moray Eels have this Alien-like feeding behavior.
This Moray Eel skull gives a more detailed view of an expendable mouth full of sharp teeth, such a nightmare ambush grip and a second jaw to pull the victim down. Overall, this specimen is too good to pass on.
